Shelter Foundation: Empowering Tribal Futures
Born during the global crisis of 2020, Shelter Foundation began with a mission to protect the vulnerable. What started as immediate Covid-19 relief has evolved into a sustainable movement for the tribal (Adiwasi) communities of Maharashtra’s Palghar district. We recognized a harsh reality: many tribal women were forced into hazardous labor in chemical factories to survive. We chose to intervene, offering safer employment, skill development, and dignity.
Our Impact (2020–2026) In six years, we have expanded our footprint across Vasai,Boisar,Jawhar, Wada,Vikramgad, Mokhada, Dahanu, Gadchiroli, Nagpur and numerous Grampanchayats including Boisar,Gaanje Dhekale, Vavar Vangani, Dambheri,Ruidhar, Amrai, ausgaon, Gadchiroli and more.
5,000+ Lives Transformed: More than 5,000 individuals have been trained and transitioned into safe, sustainable employment.
Educational Evolution: We have adopted a tribal school in Vikramgad kondgaon, providing free education (Grades 6–12) and modernizing facilities with Science and Computer Labs. Infrastructure & Health: Installed borewells for clean water, organized medical camps, and provided winter relief (food/blankets) and sanitary support.
Cultural Advocacy: Through art & craft exhibitions and educational trips, we bridge the gap between tribal heritage and modern opportunity
